Regeneration, Limehouse, London
£5.4m comprehensive estate regeneration and urban design scheme including homesteading, renovated and new housing and a community centre.
- The major element is the conversion and rehabilitation of a 1930s block, into 72 flats. Of these, 8 were 'homesteaded', where the tenants, as part of a skills training scheme, carried out the fitting out works and decoration themselves.
- The scheme included major infrastructure and external works and substantial decontamination works of the whole site.
- In addition there are 9 new flats and 14 new houses.
