Jon Broome Architects innovations include modular, low-cost, timber frame houses designed and built by groups of council tenants and other community groups. These dwellings were the product of a participatory process and are very adaptable.
In the 1980's as a Director at Architype Jon Broome developed low-energy approaches to new build and refurbishment projects for a variety of uses.
Current expertise in sustainable construction includes the emissions implications of the construction of the buildings themselves and the long-term health impacts of material specification, water conservation and waste reduction.
Jon Broome Architects experience extends to buildings for other uses including community buildings, offices, visitor centres and a hotel all of which incorporate a sustainable approach to design.
